Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)
The SSVF Program is designed for Veterans earning less than 50% of the area median income and who are in danger of losing their housing, or are homeless and want housing. Most SSVF eligible Veterans and their families have unsuitable housing and/or unfavorable financial or legal histories which present barriers to housing. Based on need, SSVF can provide or facilitate financial empowerment training, job readiness training, employment assistance, legal aid, transportation services, as well as assistance with utilities and deposits.
In order to qualify for this program, a Veteran must have served in the active military or been activated in the National Guard or Reserves either in Tennessee or another state and be currently living in one of the ten counties we serve. All Veterans in the SSVF Program must have an honorable discharge or a general under honorable conditions discharge. One may qualify for if they are a single or married Veteran or the spouse of a Veteran. Homeless Veterans that expect to be in permanent housing within the next 90 days and Veterans who are in danger of losing their housing in the next 90 days may also qualify.
