A well-known Nashville veterans nonprofit had a big day Thursday, announcing a major real estate deal, a capital campaign and its rebranding. Operation Stand Down Nashville Inc. purchased its building at 12th Avenue South and Edgehill Avenue for $2.5 million after five years of leasing, executive director and Army veteran Bill Burleigh said, with First Tennessee Bank providing 95 percent of the financing. The Frist Foundation donated $250,000 to kick off the group’s Planting the Flag/Preserving the Promise capital campaign. Its new name will be Operation Stand Down Middle Tennessee, recognizing a new office near Fort Campbell in Clarksville and an expanded outreach. To learn more, visit www.osdnashville.org.
