Operation Stand Down Nashville Inc. has paid $2.5 million for the strip mall at the corner of 12th Avenue South and Edgehill Avenue that’s home to its headquarters and veterans service center.
The nonprofit organization had been a tenant at the 26,500-square-foot strip mall that sits on 2.14 acres for five years. Other tenants of the property include Edgehill Grocery and a Cricket Wireless store.
Bill Burleigh, executive director of Operation Stand Down, said it plans to continue current operations of the strip mall it purchased from J.D. Eatherly Properties.
“We were renting a portion of the building and now we own the entire corner,” Burleigh said. “In military terms, we’ve planted our flag for veterans in Middle Tennessee.
The service center provides services to veterans such as employment, counseling, military benefits review, housing and transportation assistance, and help with a range of other needs.
